Day of Dreams is a designated day for children with special needs, aged 3-18, to experience fair favourite attractions at their own pace while the fair is closed to the general public.  It is the perfect way to help create lifelong memories for those who, otherwise, might not have had the chance!

In partnership with North American Midway Entertainment, the Western Fair is proud to provide Day of Dreams attendees with admission, Kiddyland rides, animals, entertainment and lunch, all free of charge!

New this year

1. Western Fair has expanded the age range for children attending to 3 to 18 years of age. (Range was previously 3-12).

2. Families will be able to register up to FOUR (4) guests in total, which includes the child(ren) who will be participating in Day of Dreams.

3. There will be no cost for those registered.

4. Day of Dreams will move to a new day, the last Friday of the Western Fair, Friday, September 13th from 11am-3pm.

5. The day’s schedule for the DOD event will look like this:

   11AM: Agriplex Gate Opens to receive registered DODS guests.
   11AM - 1PM: Families are invited to partake in lunch (available 11-1), entertainment, and activities inside the Agriplex.
   1PM - 3PM: Our Kiddyland Midway experience will be available for DOD attendees.
   3PM: Private DOD event ends, and public gates open to the Western Fair, all attendees welcome. At 3pm (and no sooner) The Barn and Adult Midway open to ALL guests and if you and your attendees wish to visit the animals or enjoy the larger midway rides you may.

6. As you arrive and check-in, we will provide each DOD registrant with a ride wristband, kindly supplied by our Midway provider. This wristband will allow our guests to ride in Kiddyland during the private DOD event. Please note that some of our older participants may not meet size/weight safety restrictions for our children’s rides. Older participants who cannot ride all Kiddyland rides are welcome to stay and enjoy the larger rides on the Adult Midway if they wish, once the fair opens to the public at 3pm.

7. All DOD guests are welcome to stay on-site from 3pm on when the fair opens to the general public if they wish, however the event will operate with music, crowds, lights and sounds once the fair opens at 3pm.

8. The Barn, which offers an array of farm animals, will not be available during the Day of Dreams experience. DOD guests may remain on site until gates open to the public at 3 pm to visit the Barn if they wish. When the Fair is open to the public it operates with music, lights, and sounds.

9. We are happy to announce we have increased our DOD event capacity to 2000 from 1500 participants, to accommodate families up to 4 people.

RULES & REGULATIONS

1. Only children with special needs, ages 3-18 years inclusive, are eligible to participate. 

2. Each child and guest(s) MUST be pre-registered by Sunday, August 25th, 2024, with no exceptions.  

3. Each registered attendee will receive their admission tickets via email. Admission tickets will be sent to the email address provided on the registration form and can be printed or shown digitally at the gate to receive admission. We cannot provide entrance to the DOD event without your admission passes, so please ensure you have received and printed, or stored, on your phone in advance of the event date. Gate staff must scan an individual ticket for each registered attendee.  

4. One parent/guardian must accompany the child and is responsible for managing all their needs.  

5. DOD Applicants (parent/guardian and one child) may register up to 2 (two) additional guests, free of charge for a maximum of 4 people. Example: (child, accompanying adult and 2 guests per family) - Maximum 4 registered attendees, no exceptions.  

6. There are no rain checks. Registration is non-transferable.  

7. Some Kiddyland midway rides that are made available to attendees during Day of Dreams have height, and weight safety guidelines. For larger/older DOD guests who may not meet the safety guidelines of our Kiddyland rides, please keep in mind that at 3pm, you may access the main midway which has many more rides. Follow all posted safety signage and please listen to the instructions given by your ride operator.  

8. Lunch items provided:  Hot dog on a bun, bottled water, assortment of fruit.  

9. The Agriplex Gate will open from 11am – 1pm for Day of Dreams.  Day of Dreams guests will not be allowed to enter once the gate closes at 1pm, unless there have been arrangements made ahead of time.  

10. Please note: Local media has been invited to attend this event and will be taking pictures. They have been requested to use discretion.
